What this checker measures

The inspector counts grapheme clusters, Unicode code points, UTF-16 units and UTF-8 bytes. Choose a counting method and your own preview maximum. The initial sixteen-unit setting is an editable example, not a claim about BGMI’s current nickname limit.

The ordered table shows every code point and a descriptive category. Spaces, selected fillers, controls and combining marks receive visible labels so the diagnostic list does not rely on those characters looking visible. This is not a complete Unicode-name database.

A length check is not game validation

Within your selected limit means only that the local count fits your chosen setting. The inspector cannot confirm nickname availability, permitted symbols, a publisher content filter or how the game counts a decorated name. It does not connect to BGMI.

The official publisher help describes the Rename Card workflow. It does not establish a universal fourteen-character Unicode counting rule in the source we checked. Read the current in-game field and test the final text there before confirming a rename.

Inspect without rewriting

The text stays as entered, including blanks and formatting marks. Warnings identify non-ASCII characters, spaces and compatibility normalization differences; the tool does not remove or normalize them automatically. Input is limited to 512 UTF-16 units to keep the diagnostic table manageable.

Independent, local name tools

PaperFox makes this free BGMI naming utility independently. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by KRAFTON. No player ID, account or password is needed. Input is processed locally and is not sent to our servers or included in tool-use analytics.

BGMI decides which names it accepts, how length is counted and which characters display correctly. This preview does not check availability or guarantee acceptance. Check the complete result in the game before confirming a change.

Questions

  • Does the name checker show whether a BGMI name is taken? No. It inspects text locally and cannot access account names or reserve a nickname.
  • Does a passing length preview guarantee acceptance? No. The selected limit is your own setting. The game’s rules, filters and counting method may differ.
  • Why do styled letters sometimes use two UTF-16 units? Many mathematical styled letters are supplementary Unicode characters, represented by a surrogate pair in UTF-16. They can still look like one letter.
