26 / 20,000 UTF-16 input units. Processed in this browser.
2 matches replaced. Replacement text is literal, including dollar signs.
Literal replacement, including symbols
Find treats punctuation as ordinary text, not a regular expression. Replacement text is literal too: dollar signs and sequences such as $1 or $& are inserted as typed. Leave Replace with empty to remove matches. Empty searches are rejected.
The preview reports the number of replacements. Choose whether to replace all matches or just the first, and optionally ignore letter case using Unicode-aware case matching. Overlapping matches are not replaced twice.
Apply only after reviewing
Copy output leaves the input intact. Apply preview to input updates the input and keeps up to ten prior applied versions for Undo input change. Loading the example resets that history. History stays in memory and disappears when you leave or reload.
Search and replacement fields accept up to 2,000 UTF-16 units each. Output is limited to 200,000 units; applying it back to input requires it to fit the 20,000-unit input limit. This bounds large expansions.
Local text processing
The input is processed in this browser and is not sent to our servers or included in tool-use analytics. Use up to 20,000 UTF-16 input units at a time. Copy output keeps your original input intact; if clipboard access is blocked, the output is selected for manual copying.
Questions
- Can I use regular expressions? No. Search text is literal, including brackets, dots and asterisks. This keeps the replacement behavior explicit.
- Can I replace a line break? Yes. The Find and Replace with fields accept multiline text. Paste the exact line break and review the preview.
