Control each kind of cleanup
Trim removes whitespace from the beginning and end of each line. Collapse turns runs of horizontal whitespace, including tabs and non-breaking spaces, into one ordinary space. Remove blank lines omits lines that contain only whitespace.
Line boundaries are normalized to LF. An existing final line terminator is retained when output lines remain. This is whitespace cleanup, not a general invisible-character remover: emoji joiners and zero-width spaces are left alone.
Check formatting-sensitive text
Cleanup can remove indentation and non-breaking spacing. Review source code, poetry and table-like text before copying. Turn off the trim and collapse options when you only want to remove blank lines.
Local text processing
The input is processed in this browser and is not sent to our servers or included in tool-use analytics. Use up to 20,000 UTF-16 input units at a time. Copy output keeps your original input intact; if clipboard access is blocked, the output is selected for manual copying.
Questions
- Does this remove invisible Unicode characters? It handles whitespace such as spaces and tabs. It does not remove every invisible formatting character or emoji joiner.
- Can I remove blank lines without changing other spacing? Yes. Disable trimming and collapsing, then enable Remove blank lines. Line endings are still normalized to LF.
