Duplicate line remover

Remove repeated lines and keep their original order.

Updated

25 / 20,000 UTF-16 input units. Processed in this browser.

Matching options

5 input lines → 4 output lines. 1 duplicates removed; 0 blank lines omitted.

Match without rewriting the kept line

Exact matching treats “Fox” and “fox” as different entries. Ignore letter case compares their English-locale lowercase forms. Trim spaces for matching compares trimmed keys, but the first original line keeps its spacing in the output.

Blank lines count as entries unless you choose Omit blank lines. The result reports duplicate removals and omitted blank lines separately. Line endings are normalized to LF, and a final line terminator is preserved when lines remain.

Useful for a roster or shortlist

Clean duplicate team entries, name ideas or repeated copied lines before sorting. This is text matching: it cannot identify the same person under different names and does not perform fuzzy spelling or Unicode normalization.

Local text processing

The input is processed in this browser and is not sent to our servers or included in tool-use analytics. Use up to 20,000 UTF-16 input units at a time. Copy output keeps your original input intact; if clipboard access is blocked, the output is selected for manual copying.

Questions

  • Will the list be sorted? No. The first occurrence is kept in its original position. Use the list sorter separately if you want another order.
  • Does trimmed matching trim the output too? No. Trimming is used only to compare keys; the first original line is preserved.
