We make the PaperFox games compared here. This is our feature comparison using linked publisher pages checked on , not a hands-on performance ranking. See sources and scope.
Choose Plato when…
Your friends are on separate devices and you want online games with conversation or social features.
Visit the publisher’s pageTry Duo Games when…
You are together in person and want a quick local match with no online room to join.
Try our games below| What matters | Plato | Duo Games |
|---|---|---|
| Where your friend is | Online multiplayer games.[1] | Two people on the same device. |
| Conversation | Chat is part of the product’s social experience.[1] | No in-game chat system; talk to the person beside you. |
| Familiar activities | Its catalog includes Pool, Ludo and Table Soccer.[1] | Duo includes our own Pool, Ludo and Table Tennis; no Table Soccer. |
| Competitive online play | The official site describes ranked games.[1] | No online ranked matchmaking; use local matches or supported computer modes. |
The useful comparison is local versus remote
For a friend across town, keep an online product. Duo does not have friend lists, invitations or shared online rooms. For a friend across the table, pass-and-play Ludo or a simultaneous Table Tennis match may be all you need.
Do not choose solely because two collections contain a game called Pool. The controls, supported modes and rules are separate implementations. Try a short match on your actual phone to check the fit.
Take a local collection on a trip
Install Duo’s Android test APK while connected and test your chosen games before leaving. The installed games support offline play, which is useful when both players are together without a reliable signal. Browser previews need a connection to load.
If you need the social side of an online app, Duo is an additional option for time together rather than a replacement for that community. Nothing here imports your friends, messages or account history.
Questions
- Is Duo an online chat app like Plato? No. Duo is a local game collection for one shared device and has no online messaging or matchmaking.
- Can we use Duo without both people installing it? Yes. Both players share the one phone running the collection. There is no second-device connection.
